The Dreaming Hand - a two-day workshop interweaving dreams & clay - 5/16 & 5/17, 12-4pm
Ceramist Michelle Hernandez and dreamworker Leigh Baldwin will be interweaving dreams and clay together in this weekend class. Leigh will guide us through an introduction to dreamwork on Saturday, and Michelle will lead a clay workshop Sunday helping us create the totems, talismans, and shrines to support our dream practice.
Day 1: Dreams - Saturday, 5/16 (12 - 4 pm)
The Talmud tells us that a dream uninterpreted is like a letter from God unopened. What if you could access the keys to your transformation? In this workshop, we’ll discuss the history and benefits of dreamwork, and how to begin a dream practice. Then, using sample dreams, we’ll learn different ways to interpret our dreams that focus on our unique experiences, not a dictionary. Finally, we’ll connect with our dream maker and create a ritual for our dreamwork that will guide, inspire, and support us.
Day 2: Clay - Sunday, 6/1 (12 - 4 pm)
After we spend Saturday working with the intangible, yet deeply-felt dream world we come back as a group to bring the ethereal back down to earth with a clay practice. We will focus on what embodiment of a dream practice feels and looks like and use those sensations to guide us in creating ourselves ceramic pieces that invite in continued curiosity and exploration of our dreams.
Time will be available at the end of each session for questions, private dream interpretations with Leigh and/or a dream circle with the group.
This class is intended to explore self-expression and the role creative play has in our self-care and intuition-building.
No experience is needed - all levels are welcome and invited. This class will be instructed, but loosely, to allow individual creative expression; this space is where guidance and freedom meet.
All materials will be provided - simply show up ready to explore the dream world and your capacity to create.
Ceramic pieces made in class will be ready to pickup within 3 weeks of the workshop weekend.
Class is for those 18 years of age and up.
Purchase is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
