Weekend Workshop - Shrines 8/30 & 8/31 @ 12-3PM
Weekend Workshops are intended to be an accessible way to learn basic clay techniques over a weekend in an intimate group environment. In this Weekend Workshop you will focus on making your own shrine.
NO clay experience is required. Beginners are welcome here.
Class will meet back-to-back days on Saturday, 8/30 and Sunday, 8/31 from 12-3pm on both days.
On Saturday you will focus on creating the shrine. On Sunday you will work on finishing the shrine and adding color with underglazes or glazes.
Though I will be guiding your technique during the workshop, participants are going to be bringing their own visions to life.
Handbuilding lends itself to a slower pace, allowing more time to conceptualize and inevitably troubleshoot throughout the process. Class is best for students who enjoy the journey as much as they do the final result.
Classes are held outside a traditional ceramic studio space where equipment will be limited. Alternative processes and tools will be explored.
Workshop is capped at 7 participants to keep learning potential high.
Materials and firings are included in the price - simply show up! If you do have your own tools or underglazes/glazes, do feel free to bring them!
Class is for those 18 years of age and up.
Workshop is located at Mercury Project - 538 Roosevelt Ave, SATX, 78210.
Purchase is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
